We’ve gone from 30 degree weather to 80 degree weather in a matter of days. I thought I’d cool things off a bit with this little scene capturing the last minutes of light on a winter day. It was a challenge!Started off pretty rough, so much so that I almost gave up on it – chalking it up to the heat getting to me. But alas, I pushed through and I’m glad I did.

I had some much needed time in the studio early this morning. This little one practically painted itself! Love when that happens. I really like this scene and may do a much larger version in oil.

Here’s a morning view of some cornfields near home from last winter. I am loving the fall so far, but I am also looking forward to winter. Lots of wonderful things are ahead in the coming months!

This Saturday I’ll be celebrating American Craft Week at the Beekman Street Art District in Saratoga Springs. The entire street will be filled with visiting artists displaying, selling, and demonstrating painting, pottery, weaving, felting, jewelry construction and more. I’ll be there with a selection of small paintings for sale. My table will be right across the street from Mimosa Gallery. Stop by if you’re in the area. It would be nice to see you!
